The articles on basedecontacts.fr revolve around one question: how do you work with data about businesses in France in a way that is both lawful and practical? They describe where company data come from, what the Sirene database makes public, how NAF codes define a target group and which rules the CNIL sets for B2B prospecting by email and phone.

The principle: give figures with a date and source, label approximations as approximations, say openly what is not known, and do not round in our own favour. How we work is described on the data sources and methodology page, the current status on the database status page.
