Pharmacies, opticians and hearing care: point-of-sale data for France

Community pharmacies, optical shops, hearing centres, orthopaedic suppliers and medical goods retailers: point-of-sale data for laboratories, makers of frames, lenses or hearing aids, and service providers planning their field sales by département.

Our database for France holds 1,577,933 records (as of 4 November 2026); they are not yet assigned to industries. The quote states the size available for this industry.

Export of the whole industry: €359 (full price). Selections by region, department or your own filters are quoted on request.

Official statistics: 26,822 businesses in France according to Eurostat, structural business statistics (sbs_ovw_act) (reference year 2024, data as of 30 September 2026). Classes 47.73 dispensing chemists (22,352) and 47.74 medical and orthopaedic goods, including hearing aids (4,470). Opticians (NAF subclass 47.78A) are not counted: Eurostat only publishes class 47.78 as a whole (37,380). This is the size of the market, not the size of our database.

A point-of-sale list for your sales reps

Start from one profession (pharmacy, optics or hearing care) and a list of départements. Sorting by postcode then lets you split the rounds; the phone number helps confirm appointments.

Our records do not yet carry a NAF code: selecting by activity (NAF subclass) will only be possible for records matched with the Sirene database (matching in progress). The quote states what can be done today: area and required fields.

The official figure shown adds up three retail activities. It is neither the number of authorised pharmacies nor the number of professionals listed in the Annuaire Santé.

Price of the whole industry: €359. A selection by region, sub-industry or required fields is quoted individually; the whole-industry price is not a price promise for the filtered selection.

Pharmacists’ Order and Annuaire Santé: public, downloadable lists

This industry has richer public sources than most. They overlap without being identical:

Directory of the Order
The national council of the Ordre des pharmaciens offers a directory of pharmacists and establishments: pharmacies (type “Pharmacie”), but also clinical biology, industry, wholesale distribution and hospitals. It can be downloaded in CSV and JSON format.
Online sales
The Order keeps the list of websites selling medicines online for pharmacies that have declared this activity, under article R5125-74 of the public health code. It can be searched by region, département or municipality and downloaded as CSV.
Opticians and hearing aid specialists
Like pharmacists, opticians and hearing aid specialists appear in the open extract of the Annuaire Santé published daily by the Agence du Numérique en Santé (checked in the file of 4 November 2026). These are personal data; our export contains no names.

Not in the export

  • names of pharmacy owners, opticians and hearing aid specialists
  • membership of a purchasing group or brand network
  • turnover and sales volumes
  • RPPS and FINESS numbers
  • opening hours and on-duty pharmacies

The 15 columns supplied are described on the export page.

Brands, branches and online shops

Some opticians and hearing aid specialists operate under a national brand, as franchisees or branches, and the name above the shop is often the brand. Once matched with the Sirene database, the SIREN shows which outlets belong to the same company, and the SIRET identifies each shop.

Pharmacies, opticians and hearing centres also sell online. For medicines, only declared websites appear on the Order’s list; the site_web column in our export contains the website published by the business, without checking that declaration.

The number published by a pharmacy or shop is that of the outlet, not of the owner. For phone prospecting, professionals have the right to object (CNIL): keep your opposition list up to date.

Questions

Pharmacies, opticians and hearing-aid specialists: frequently asked questions

Not yet: our records do not carry a NAF code yet. Each profession has its own code: 47.73Z for pharmacies, 47.78A for optics, 47.74Z for hearing aids. The last code also covers orthopaedic and medical goods, so a hearing centre and an orthopaedic shop appear together. Selection by code will be possible for records matched with the Sirene database (matching in progress); the quote states how many already are.

It is public and downloadable, and it is the reference for checking that a pharmacy exists. Our export also brings opticians and hearing aid specialists together in the same 15-column format, with phone, e-mail and website where published.

The CNIL states that generic addresses such as info@, contact@ or commande@, which concern legal entities, are not subject to the rules it sets out for the addresses of individuals. For a professional’s personal address, e-mail without prior consent remains possible if the offer relates to their profession, with clear information and an opt-out link in every message.
