Agriculture, forestry and food companies in France
Arable and livestock farms, wine estates, agricultural contractors, forestry operators, fishermen, bakers, charcutiers, cheesemakers and food manufacturers: for suppliers of farm inputs, packaging and equipment, traders and service providers who want to reach one production chain in a region.
Our database for France holds 1,577,933 records (as of 4 November 2026); they are not yet assigned to industries. The quote states the size available for this industry.
Export of the whole industry: €409 (full price). Selections by region, department or your own filters are quoted on request.
Official statistics: 360,410 agricultural holdings in France according to Eurostat, farm structure survey 2023 (ef_m_farmang) (survey year 2023, data as of 17 June 2026). Agricultural holdings according to the 2023 EU farm structure survey (393,030 in 2020). Food and beverage manufacturers (NAF 10 and 11) are not included; the 2024 structural business statistics count 62,354 of them. This is the size of the market, not the size of our database.
Combine production with processing: vines and wine-making, dairy farming and cheese-making, cereals and milling. Then choose the départements of your delivery area or sales territory.
Our records do not yet carry a NAF code: selecting by activity (NAF subclass) will only be possible for records matched with the Sirene database (matching in progress). The quote states what can be done today: area and required fields.
The official figure shown counts agricultural holdings and does not cover food manufacturing. The number of records available for a production chain is specified in the quote.
Price of the whole industry: €409. A selection by region, sub-industry or required fields is quoted individually; the whole-industry price is not a price promise for the filtered selection.
A request is not an order. Scope, fields, the date of the data and price are confirmed before you order.
What counts as Agriculture, forestry and food industry
The sector combines section A of NAF rév. 2 (divisions 01 to 03: crop and animal production, forestry, fishing and aquaculture) with divisions 10 and 11 of section C (food products and beverages). Farm work carried out for third parties, such as sowing, harvesting or vine pruning, is classified under 01.61Z.
Craft bakeries that bake and sell on the premises are classified under 10.71C, so they belong to food manufacturing rather than retail. The same applies to craft charcuterie (10.13B). Butchers (47.22Z) and shops selling bread they do not bake (47.24Z), however, are retail, and trading in agricultural products is wholesale.

Farms and food establishments: what is public
Since 2023, farms have been part of the register shared by all businesses. Food chain establishments and some livestock farms also appear in public inspection databases.
National business register
On 1 January 2023 the register of farmers (registre des actifs agricoles) was replaced by the national business register (RNE), which covers agricultural activities as well as commercial, craft and professional ones. Its data can be consulted free of charge on the DATA INPI platform.
Alim’confiance food safety inspections
The Ministry of Agriculture publishes on data.gouv.fr the results of official food safety inspections carried out since 1 March 2017: slaughterhouses, food shops, catering, food manufacturers. Each row shows, among other things, the SIRET, address, activity and hygiene rating, without phone or email; only inspected establishments are listed.
Livestock farms and classified sites
Livestock farms and food plants subject to authorisation or registration as classified installations can be looked up on Géorisques, which has headings specific to livestock (for example 2101 for cattle) and a filter by main activity.
Not in the export
farmed area, livestock numbers and products
quality labels (PDO, PGI, organic) and certifications
food safety approval number and inspection results
names of farmers and partners
turnover, headcount and production volumes
The 15 columns supplied are described on the export page.
Farm, estate or manufacturer: three different realities
Our records come from published business locations (Overture Maps) and company websites. A farm with no website or public listing may therefore be missing, whereas a cheese dairy or wine cellar that receives customers is easier to find. The quote tells you how many records actually exist for your départements, rather than a theoretical figure.
The official figure shown on this page comes from the European farm structure survey: it counts agricultural holdings, not companies, and does not cover food manufacturing.
In wine, the boundary runs between vine growing (01.21Z) and wine-making (11.02A, 11.02B). An estate that makes wine from its own harvest falls under one class or the other depending on its declared main activity: to reach all wine producers of a département, select both.
Example request
We distribute winery equipment and are looking for businesses classified under 01.21Z and 11.02B in Gironde, Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne, with a website or email, for a catalogue mailing before the harvest. Can you tell us how many records already have a NAF code?

Questions
Agriculture, forestry and food industry: frequently asked questions
Yes, when they publish a business location, a website or contact details. After matching with Sirene, the legal form column shows whether it is a sole proprietorship or a company. For a farmer trading in their own name, the data relate to them personally: they must be informed of the use and be able to object (Articles 14 and 21 GDPR).
In this sector when they bake: INSEE classifies craft bakeries and patisseries under 10.71C, production combined with retail sale. A shop selling bread it does not produce is classified under 47.24Z, in retail. For a campaign aimed at every bread outlet, ask for both classes.
Not yet: our records do not carry a NAF code yet. For records matched with Sirene (matching in progress), selection will be by NAF subclass: for example 01.41Z for dairy cattle or 01.50Z for mixed farming. The code reflects the declared main activity, so a mixed farm may appear under a different class from the one you expect.
