Contacts of French construction firms and trades: phone, email, website

Electricians, plumbers and heating engineers, roofers, masons, joiners, painters, earthworks and civil engineering firms: a prospect list for reaching the construction businesses of a department by their main phone number or published email address. For builders’ merchants, equipment manufacturers and quoting software vendors.

Our database for France holds 1,577,933 records (as of 4 November 2026); they are not yet assigned to industries. The quote states the size available for this industry.

Export of the whole industry: €449 (full price). Selections by region, department or your own filters are quoted on request.

Official statistics: 600,157 businesses in France according to Eurostat, structural business statistics (sbs_ovw_act) (reference year 2024, data as of 30 September 2026). Section F construction: divisions 41 construction of buildings (53,392), 42 civil engineering (4,484) and 43 specialised construction activities (542,281). This is the size of the market, not the size of our database.

Preparing a selection by trade

First choose the NAF subclasses (for example 43.22A and 43.22B for plumbing and heating), then the area: départements or régions. Making the website or email a required field reduces the volume, but gives you records you can qualify before getting in touch.

Our records do not yet carry a NAF code: selecting by activity (NAF subclass) will only be possible for records matched with the Sirene database (matching in progress). The quote states what can be done today: area and required fields.

The official figure shown covers the whole of section F, including property development. It is neither the number of firms in a single trade nor the number of RGE-certified or qualified firms.

Price of the whole industry: €449. A selection by region, sub-industry or required fields is quoted individually; the whole-industry price is not a price promise for the filtered selection.

What counts as Construction and building trades

In NAF rév. 2, the French BTP sector corresponds to section F “Construction”, split into three divisions: 41 construction of buildings (including property development), 42 civil engineering and 43 specialised construction activities, where most tradespeople are found. According to the INSEE notes, a general contractor taking overall responsibility for a building is classified in 41.20A or 41.20B, whereas a mason doing structural work without that responsibility falls under 43.99C.

Not part of this sector: project management, architects and engineering consultancies (group 71.1, see Architects and engineering firms), builders’ merchants (46.73, see Wholesale) and property dealers, which are classified under real estate.

Qualifications, ten-year insurance, RGE: what is public

Small construction firms in France face a stack of obligations. Only one of them results in a public list that anyone can consult.

Qualification and ten-year liability insurance
According to the building contractor fact sheet on Entreprendre Service Public (checked on 21 February 2026), activities affecting the structure of buildings require a professional qualification, and the business must be under the effective and permanent control of a qualified person. The contractor takes out ten-year liability insurance (assurance décennale) before starting work and attaches the certificate to quotes or invoices. The sheet points to no directory of these qualifications or certificates.
RGE status
The France Rénov’ directory lets you find an RGE-certified professional; MaPrimeRénov’ grants require the work to be done by one. ADEME also publishes the list of RGE companies under the Licence Ouverte, updated daily, with SIRET, contact details, field of work, certifying body and expiry date (one row per qualification).
National business register
Since 1 January 2023 the craft trades register (répertoire des métiers) has been replaced by the national business register (RNE) kept by INPI. Tradespeople’s entries can be viewed free of charge on the DATA INPI platform, one record at a time.

Not in the export

  • Qualibat or Qualit’EnR qualifications and RGE status
  • ten-year liability insurance certificate
  • name of the manager or of the qualified person
  • headcount, turnover and order book
  • current building sites and public contracts won

The 15 columns supplied are described on the export page.

One code per company, while building sites mix trades

The NAF code describes the main activity. A plumbing and heating firm that also fits photovoltaic panels stays in 43.22B and will not appear in a selection of electricians. The INSEE notes even separate electric solar collectors (43.21A) from thermal ones (43.22B). To target a service rather than a trade, combine several subclasses and keep the website as a required column: that is where the firm describes what it actually does.

Some construction firms are sole traders (entrepreneurs individuels), sometimes registered at their home address. The CNIL does not deal with this case separately. Where the legal form is filled in, the export lets you separate these records from companies and handle them cautiously; the email and phone rules are summarised in our B2B prospecting guide.

The département and région are derived from the postcode of the published address. A roofer based in Seine-et-Marne may well work in Paris: for a catchment area, add the neighbouring départements.

Example request

We distribute roof tiles and roof windows and are looking for roofers (43.91B) and roof carpenters (43.91A) in Brittany and Pays de la Loire with an email address or website, to invite them to product demonstrations at our branches. Developers and general contractors are not relevant to us. How many records in these two régions already have a NAF code?

Questions

Construction and building trades: frequently asked questions

No. RGE status is not one of the 15 export columns. ADEME publishes the list of RGE companies with their SIRET: where our record carries a SIRET, you can match the two files yourself. A company appears there once per qualification.

Yes, if electrical work is its declared main activity: INSEE classifies the installation of electric solar collectors in 43.21A. A heating engineer fitting solar thermal panels is in 43.22B. Selection by NAF code only covers records already matched with the Sirene database; the quote states how many records have a code and how many do not yet.

According to the CNIL, email prospecting of professionals can rely on legitimate interest when the message relates to their profession, provided the recipient is informed and can object with every message. An offer of roofing materials sent to a roofer fits this framework; a consumer offer does not. See the rules for B2B prospecting.
